Houston Texans 06/13/2007 8:27 AMThe Houston Chronicle reports HC Gary Kubiak said the Texans will spend the weeks leading up to training camp continuing to tweak their roster. The Texans are still hopeful veteran WR Keenan McCardell will accept their offer to join the team and return to his hometown, but McCardell has other options, and the Texans have little room to negotiate because of the salary cap. âWe're doing what we can do, and I know there's probably some football teams out there that can do a little more,â Kubiak said. âHe's got options. I'm not sure if we're option one or number three, but we'll see. We'd love to have him, and he knows that.â Kubiak said the team does plan to bring in at least one new receiver before training camp.Read more

Miami Dolphins 06/13/2007 8:16 AMThe Palm Beach Post reports the NFL players' union filed a grievance Tuesday on behalf of Dolphins QB Daunte Culpepper. The NFLPA alleges that the Dolphins violated Culpepper's contract when they refused to let him participate in team drills at last weekend's mini-camp. The NFL and the Dolphins acknowledged receiving the grievance but would not comment. However, a source said, the league plans to contest the grievance. The Dolphins have 10 days to respond. Last year, it took more than a month for a similar grievance, by QB Steve McNair against the Tennessee Titans, to go before a special arbitrator. The case was decided, in McNair's favor, two weeks later.Read more
Philadelphia Eagles 06/11/2007 6:41 PMThe official website of the Philadelphia Eagles reports QB Donovan McNabb returned to the practice field at the NovaCare Complex on Monday, marking the first time the quarterback has participated in practice since tearing his right ACL against the Tennessee Titans on November 19. "It felt great to get back out there on the field with all of the guys," said McNabb in a statement following practice. "It's just part of the rehab process and hopefully good things will continue to come. It is important to continue to monitor my progress, but also be smart about the whole situation." McNabb's participation in Organized Team Activities was limited, as the coaches took precautions to protect the franchise quarterback. Even so, coaches and players saw enough of McNabb to give the quarterback a positive review for his first on-field action in nearly seven months.Read more
