Culpepper gets union's backing

The Palm Beach Post reports the NFL players' union filed a grievance Tuesday on behalf of Dolphins QB Daunte Culpepper. The NFLPA alleges that the Dolphins violated Culpepper's contract when they refused to let him participate in team drills at last weekend's mini-camp. The NFL and the Dolphins acknowledged receiving the grievance but would not comment. However, a source said, the league plans to contest the grievance. The Dolphins have 10 days to respond. Last year, it took more than a month for a similar grievance, by QB Steve McNair against the Tennessee Titans, to go before a special arbitrator.
