Miami Dolphins 08/29/2007 4:27 PMThe Palm Beach Post reports Dolphins HC Cam Cameron has a hard time talking about his relationship with New Orleans QB Drew Brees, who played for Cameron for four seasons in San Diego. Asked Tuesday to characterize it, Cameron's face reddened, his eyes watered up and his voiced cracked with emotion. "I can't even get the words out to describe what it means to have been a part of Drew Brees' life," said Cameron, whose Dolphins play the Saints on Thursday in New Orleans. "I can tell you that." After he paused for a moment to gather himself, Miami's first-year coach concluded: "It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to coach a guy like that." Cameron and Brees' interaction went beyond football. The men's families, for example, often attended church together. On the field, Cameron helped the 6-foot Brees become one of the NFL's best quarterbacks. Brees, a second-round pick in the 2001 draft, was inconsistent during his first two years as a starter, in 2002 and 2003.Read more

Cincinnati Bengals 08/29/2007 4:21 PMThe Dayton Daily news reports the Bengals have signed a placekicker to help them get through Friday's 2007 preseason finale against the visiting Indianapolis Colts. He's Aaron Elling, a fourth-year NFL veteran who was acquired off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Elling is expected to be in uniform today, practicing with the club from 1:40-3:30 p.m. at Paul Brown Stadium.Read more
