Baltimore Ravens 12/31/2007 9:59 AMThe Baltimore Sun reports a resident of Las Vegas, OT Jonathan Ogden figures he has a bead on what the oddsmakers will be saying about his possible return to the Ravens. "Oh yeah, they'd bet against me," he predicted. "Probably strongly against me. But that's why we have odds. There's still a chance." Ogden, who is set to play in his 11th Pro Bowl in his 12-season career, has said that he will make a decision on his future in the NFL during the offseason, weighing his passion for the game against the physical toll the profession has taken on his 6-foot-9, 345-pound frame. If yesterday was his final game in the league, Ogden prepared a statement for Ravens fans.Read more
Pittsburgh Steelers 12/31/2007 9:56 AMThe Post-Gazette reports QB Ben Roethlisberger set a team record yesterday without playing and avoided a more dubious one. His 104.1 passer rating this season is the first over 100 by a Steelers quarterback, and gives him the top three seasons in club history. His career passer rating of 92.5 also tops the Steelers' list. He completed 65.3 percent of his passes in 2007 (264 of 404) for second best in team history and he also owns the top three spots -- his 66.4 in 2004 is the record. His career mark of 63.2 is the best in club history.Read more
Detroit Lions 12/31/2007 9:54 AMThe Detroit Free Press reports coach Rod Marinelli declined to discuss reports the Lions will fire offensive coordinator Mike Martz and replace him with receivers coach Kippy Brown. "Not here, not now," Marinelli said Sunday, after the Lions lost their season finale to the Packers, 34-13. "I'm not going to comment on any of that." Marinelli declined to say whether a decision had been made. He said he would meet with his entire staff this week.Read more
Atlanta Falcons 12/31/2007 9:52 AMThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports this story corrects an earlier version that inaccurately stated the Falcons had clinched the third pick in the 2008 draft. The Falcons will select third, fourth or fifth in the 2008 NFL draft after a coin flip on Monday will be used to break a three-way tie. The Falcons are tied with Oakland and Kansas City. All three teams, plus, the New York Jets, finished at 4-12. The Falcons, Raiders and Chiefs finished with identical strengths of schedule. The NFL has no other tie-breaker in the case of three-way ties. The Jets had a tougher strength of schedule than the three other teams and will pick sixth. Miami (1-15) and St. Louis (3-13) will make the first two picks. San Francisco and Baltimore both finished 5-11. New England, which owns the 49ers' first-round pick, will select seventh and the Ravens eighth based on strength of schedule.Read more
