Jaguars sign CB Florence

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed unrestricted free agent CB Drayton Florence to a contract today. Florence spent the past five seasons with the San Diego Chargers where he played in 74 games with 43 starts. Read more

Jackson agrees to two-year deal

The Denver Post reports the Broncos agreed to a two-year contract with free-agent TE Nate Jackson on Friday. The deal is worth about $2 million with some escalators. Jackson finished last season on injured reserve. The Broncos re-signed DE John Engelberger on Thursday. The team's remaining free agents are K Jason Elam, DE Ebenezer Ekuban, S Nick Ferguson and FB Cecil Sapp. Elam and Ekuban are the team's top targets. Sapp and Ferguson are not likely to return. Falcons Williams visits Chiefs

The Kansas City Star reports the Chiefs have desperate needs at several positions, but their first free-agent visitor plays in a spot where they appear set. Atlanta LB Demorrio Williams arrived Friday to meet with Chiefs officials. If they sign Williams, 27, he could replace LB Napoleon Harris as a starter. Read more

Cards' Pace close to deal with Miami

The Arizona Republic reports the Cardinals apparently are on the verge of losing LB Calvin Pace as a free agent to the Miami Dolphins. The team also seems all but out of the race for Steelers free-agent OL Alan Faneca, a seven-time Pro Bowl player who tentatively has agreed on a four-year deal worth $32 million with the New York Jets. Cardinals General Manager Rod Graves was not available for comment late Friday when the signings appeared close to becoming imminent, although neither deal is expected to be finalized until sometime this weekend.
