Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Barnett tore a right knee ligament in Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings, which the Packers lost 28-27, but he wouldn't specify if it was an ACL tear. St. Louis Rams 11/10/2008 1:20 PMThe St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports when he was introduced Sept. 30 as Scott Linehan's successor, new Rams coach Jim Haslett made clear his preference at quarterback. "Marc (Bulger) is going to be the quarterback," Haslett said, "and he will be the starting quarterback for the rest of the year unless something happens." Well, something happened Sunday. The Rams went belly-up, humiliated by the New York Jets 47-3 in front of 78,073 at Giants Stadium. And now, Haslett's choice at quarterback is anything but clear. "I don't know yet," he said. "You take care of the big guys," said Vikings quarterback Gus Frerotte, who added that he has given "different things, from TVs to watches" to linemen over the years. RB Adrian Peterson wears a diamond-encrusted watch that's only slightly smaller than a sundial. And, chances are, he's not hurting for televisions. New Orleans Saints 11/10/2008 1:08 PMThe Times-Picayune reports Saints CB Mike McKenzie suffered a devastating knee injury that likely will end his season. He fractured his right kneecap while making a diving tackle during the third quarter of Sunday's 34-20 loss to Atlanta. He will visit Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., this week for the official prognosis, but season-ending surgery is the most likely option.Read more
