Philadelphia Eagles 12/04/2008 8:46 AMThe Philadelphia Inquirer reports when QB Donovan McNabb was struggling there for weeks on end, zinging passes past receivers and getting benched in the second half against Baltimore, there was something much more important gnawing at his insides. It didn't cause him to play poorly - there were other things, some well beyond his control, that contributed to that - but it had an effect. McNabb would be inhuman if it didn't. On Tuesday, three weeks before her due date, Roxie McNabb, the quarterback's wife, delivered twins, a healthy baby boy and girl. Pittsburgh Steelers 12/04/2008 8:46 AMThe Post-Gazette reports Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger stopped practicing yesterday when he slipped and slightly injured his right knee while throwing a pass. Byron Leftwich took over and ran the final 1 1/2 offensive sessions over the final 20 minutes of practice. Roethlisberger said afterward that he slipped in the mud in the middle of the outdoor, grass practice field. He does not believe his knee is seriously hurt.Read more
New York Giants 12/04/2008 8:46 AMThe Star-Ledger reports Antonio Pierce's role with the Giants hasn't changed -- and isn't expected to any time soon. The middle linebacker is being investigated by police for his role in teammate Plaxico Burress' accidental shooting of himself at a Manhattan nightclub, but Pierce was back at work at Giants Stadium Wednesday and is preparing to play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. "He is practicing," coach Tom Coughlin said, "and I fully expect that he will continue." Burress' fate with the team this season was decided Tuesday when he was placed on the non-football injury list, ending his season. But Coughlin said the team didn't see a reason to take any action toward Pierce at this time.Read more
