Saints' Bush will end season on IR

The Times-Picayune reports the Saints announced Wednesday running back Reggie Bush will end this season where he ended 2007 -- off the field. Bush became the 17th member of the Saints' injured reserve list, and he will miss the final two games of the season with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.  Saints Coach Sean Payton said he doesn't expect Bush to need surgery but added Bush will be meeting Friday with Dr. James Andrews, the renowned Birmingham, Ala.-based surgeon. Browns place Heiden on IR

The Cleveland Browns have placed TE Steve Heiden and LB Beau Bell on the Reserve-Injured list.  The Browns have signed free agent TE John Madsen to the active roster and have signed WR Paul Hubbard from the practice squad to the active roster.  The club also signed LB David Holloway to the practice squad. 'Black cloud' continues over Jaguars' season

The Florida Times-Union reports running back Fred Taylor is looking for some sunshine for the Jaguars. Taylor became the latest victim of the black cloud that seems to be hovering over the 4-9 Jaguars when he suffered torn ligaments in his right thumb Sunday in Chicago. The injury might sideline him for the final three games. "[We're] the black cloud Jags right now," Taylor said. "We're going to shake that off and get a little more sunshine around here." The sunshine might not be able to break through the black clouds the rest of this season, though, because the problems continue to pile up for the Jaguars. Read more

The Denver Post reports the next running back the Broncos figure to introduce Sunday at Carolina is Cory Boyd, who was promoted from the practice squad this week after humbling the No. 1 defense as a scout teamer in previous weeks. "No disrespect for what those guys have dealt with on injuries — we've had our share too and it's not easy — but I've seen that Bronco offense over the years do it with all kinds of backs," Carolina Panthers HC John Fox said during a conference call Wednesday. "I've seen them over the years plug guys in and do very, very well. Again, I'm not trying to slight their injury situation. That's never easy. But I think they do a fine job." Read more
