Clark back at practice

The Indianapolis Star reports TE Dallas Clark returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering a sprained anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee against Philadelphia on Nov. 26. "He did well," HC Tony Dungy said. "We'll see how he is (today). He would like to play; I think he's planning on playing, looking forward to it. If he comes in and is able to string another good practice (today), I think he will play." Read more

Jennings set to step in

The Seattle Times CB Marcus Trufant's high right ankle sprain will almost certainly keep him out of this Sunday's game — though he is listed as doubtful — and that means rookie CB Kelly Jennings is set to make his first career start. Jennings replaced Trufant at right cornerback when Trufant was helped off the field with his injury early in the third quarter against San Diego last Sunday. Read more

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Pro Bowl WR Torry Holt did little work at Wednesday's practice. HC Scott Linehan explained that he wanted to give Holt's sore left knee a rest, and said that the move was strictly precautionary. "He's fine; it's absolutely nothing," Linehan said. "He'll work more tomorrow and Friday." Holt wasn't included on the week's first injury report. Read more

Warner says he'll return next season

The Arizona Republic reports if Cardinals QB Kurt Warner had left the country when he was benched nearly three months ago, he wouldn't recognize the team's offense now. The line has developed into a steady, productive unit. It no longer takes RB Edgerrin James three weeks to rush for 100 yards or a code breaker to identify the game plan. Although the Cardinals remain far from an offensive juggernaut, they are much better than they were when Warner was replaced by QB Matt Leinart after the team started 1-3. Read more
