Proehl, Sanders likely out

AP reports S Bob Sanders and newly acquired WR Ricky Proehl are likely to miss the Colts regular season finale Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. "Ricky probably won't go and Bob Sanders is the same way. But we haven't ruled them totally out yet," Colts HC Tony Dungy said after Friday's practice. Also, K Adam Vinatieri missed Friday's practice. Colts spokesman Craig Kelley said the kicker has an injured knee but was probable for Sunday's game. Read more

Titans to keep Fisher for '07

The Nashville Tennessean reports the Titans plan to exercise the option on HC Jeff Fisher's contract in the coming days, then continue discussions with him on a long-term deal at season's end, according to sources familiar with the situation. Fisher signed a contract extension prior to the 2003 season, at which time a team option for 2007 was added. By exercising the option, the Titans keep Fisher under contract and buy time to negotiate a long-term deal. The Titans have until Sunday to officially exercise the option. Taylor ready to go

The Florida Times-Union reports Jaguars RB Fred Taylor said his strained hamstring should be ready for Sunday's game. He practiced again Friday, but hasn't yet run full speed to test the hamstring. "I haven't opened it up, but I feel confident about it," Taylor said. "It's feeling better this week than it felt the week leading into the Tennessee game [when he aggravated the injury]." Taylor also reiterated his stance about his desire for a new contract, and he stands by the statistics he has put up this season as leverage for a new deal. Despite sharing time in the backfield with RB Maurice Jones-Drew, Taylor has run for 1,120 yards. Read more

Jenkins yet to receive offer

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports DE Cullen Jenkins, the most attractive player on the Green Bay Packers' free-agent lists, said Friday that he had received no offer from the club on a new contract. Jenkins, 25, has been a revelation since assuming the right end job from DE Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila early in Week 13. His one-year contract, which includes a minimum base salary of $425,000, is expiring. If unsigned, he would become a restricted free agent in March. Read more
