Gamecocks HC Steve Spurrier confirmed through a spokesman Sunday that Rice would go pro. One of their targets could be Patriots CB Asante Samuel, who returned a QB Chad Pennington interception 36 yards for a touchdown in the Patriots' 37-16 wild-card victory over the Jets yesterday.
