Jags reach verbal agreement on new offensive coordinator

The Florida Times-Union reports Dirk Koetter, who was recently fired as the head coach at Arizona State University, has verbally agreed to become the Jaguars' new offensive coordinator. The move was considered a surprise because running backs coach Kennedy Pola was considered the front runner to replace Carl Smith, who was fired after two seasons on the job. Read more

Branch to enter NFL draft

ESPN’s Joe Schad reports Michigan DT Alan Branch will announce later Monday that he is entering the NFL draft, a person close to Branch said Sunday. Branch, 6-foot-6, 330 pounds, is projected by some as a top-10 pick. Branch had 25 tackles -- including five for loss -- two sacks, two forced fumbles and three recovered fumbles in 2006. Read more

Anderson, Houston to enter NFL draft

ESPN.com reports Arkansas DE Jamaal Anderson and CB Chris Houston will skip their final season of college eligibility to enter the NFL draft, coach Houston Nutt said Sunday. Anderson was a first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection and an honorable mention All-American as a junior this season. The Little Rock native led the SEC in sacks with 13.5 and was second in the league with 19.5 tackles for loss. Read more
