New Orleans Saints 01/09/2007 8:36 AMThe Times-Picayune reports Saints QB Drew Brees finally received at least one memorable postseason accolade Monday when he was selected to The Associated Press' All-Pro team, edging New Orleans native and Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning by one vote. Brees is joined as a first-team All-Pro selection by left OT Jammal Brown. FB Mike Karney was selected to the second team. Brees and Brown will represent the Saints and the NFC as starters in the Pro Bowl on Feb. 10 in Honolulu. Brees received 25 of the possible 50 votes from a nationwide panel of sports media. Manning received 24. It's the first time since 2002 Manning was not selected the first-team All-Pro quarterback.Read more
Seattle Seahawks 01/09/2007 8:33 AMThe Seattle Times reports the pain in WR Darrell Jackson's bum toe was so great Saturday night that he had to leave the game. But a couple of days rest can do wonders, especially with every game now do-or-die for the Seahawks. Jackson probably will play Sunday at Chicago, HC Mike Holmgren said in his Monday news conference, despite Jackson aggravating the toe injury in his left foot during the game.Read more
Arizona Cardinals 01/08/2007 2:39 PMThe Arizona Republic reports the Cardinals are scheduled to finish interviewing their initial eight head coaching candidates Tuesday, but it's unknown what plans they have beyond that. Most likely, the three chief decisions makers, owner Bill Bidwill, his son, Michael, and Rod Graves, the vice president of football operations, will huddle and narrow the list, perhaps even setting on a final candidate. Michael Bidwill and Graves spent the weekend interviewing Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron in San Diego and Colts assistant head coach Jim Caldwell in Indianapolis. Titans offensive coordinator Norm Chow is interviewing today in Tempe, and Pittsburgh assistant head coach Russ Grimm is scheduled for Tuesday.Read more
