Ginn Jr. still mulling NFL draft

ESPN.com reports Ohio State's WR Ted Ginn Jr., injured celebrating after he returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown in the BCS national championship game, sprained his left foot and will wear a walking boot for a few weeks. Ginn Jr. had an MRI and X-rays Wednesday at the Cleveland Clinic where a doctor determined he had a middle foot sprain. "We were thankful for that. It's just a sprain," said his father, Ted Ginn Sr., the football coach at Glenville High School in Cleveland, on Thursday. Ginn Jr., resting at home, has not yet said whether he'll return to Ohio State for his senior year or enter the NFL draft, where he's expected to be a first-round pick because of his dazzling speed. The Seattle Times reports WR Darrell Jackson didn't practice Wednesday and may be limited in workouts this week because of turf toe, but he is likely to play, HC Mike Holmgren said. Read more

Peterson turning pro

ESPN.com reports Junior RB Adrian Peterson will skip his final year of eligibility at Oklahoma to make himself available for April's NFL draft, sources told the Dallas Morning News on Wednesday. Peterson will announce his decision as early as Thursday, said the sources, who requested anonymity. While the Morning News reported that Peterson met with Sooners coach Bob Stoops on Wednesday to notify Stoops of his plan to turn pro, Oklahoma spokesman Kenny Mossman told ESPN on Wednesday night that the running back told the coach he had not yet decided. Walker set to enter draft

ESPN.com reports Notre Dame junior RB Darius Walker will hold a news conference Thursday in South Bend, Ind., to announce he is entering the NFL draft, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad on Wednesday. The source indicated Walker is likely to be the only Notre Dame junior to leave school early. Read more
