He put on a clinic at the D-tackle position in Mobile, finishing the game with two tackles and two sacks. He was in on virtually every play. Baltimore Ravens 01/26/2007 7:41 AMThe Dayton Daily News reports nineteen-year-old DT Amobi Okoye of Louisville put on a show this week. His aggressiveness, explosion, high motor and pass-rush ability really impressed the scouts. At 6-foot-2, 287 pounds, Okoye is an undersized defensive tackle, but teams love everything about him. He played a lot of the three-technique in college, where he utilized his speed and quickness to wreak havoc in the middle. That likely will change in the pros due to his size. Okoye could be available when the Bengals make their selection at No. 18.Read more
Pittsburgh Steelers 01/26/2007 7:38 AMThe Post-Gazette reports HC Mike Tomlin is talking to former Arizona Cardinals running backs coach Kirby Wilson about taking a similar position with the Steelers. Wilson would replace Dick Hoak, who retired after 45 seasons as a player and coach with the Steelers, the last 35 as running backs coach. Wilson, 45, had been with the Cardinals since 2004 but was not retained by new Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt, the Steelers' former offensive coordinator. Wilson was running backs coach in TampaBay (2002-03) when Tomlin was a secondary coach.Read more
Indianapolis Colts 01/26/2007 7:35 AMThe Indianapolis Star reports QB Peyton Manning practiced the past two days without incident. He suffered an injury to his right thumb Sunday when he banged his right hand on the helmet of OT Tarik Glenn. "He did fine (Wednesday), didn't have any problems with it, threw the ball well and we don't anticipate any problems,'' HC Tony Dungy said prior to Thursday's practice. Asked if Manning took his normal repetitions in Wednesday's workout, Dungy replied, "He did, every one of them.''Read more
