Stallworth says he'd like to return

The Philadelphia Enquirer reports WR Donté Stallworth didn't get to live out his Super Bowl dream this season with the Eagles, but he did make his way to Super Bowl XLI. So where's he going next? The wide receiver said yesterday that he hopes the answer to that question is "back to Philadelphia." "I hope they want me back," Stallworth said at the Miami Beach Convention Center, after he and New Orleans QB Drew Brees completed an interview with the VH1 network. Stallworth is an unrestricted free agent represented by agent Drew Rosenhaus. The Eagles acquired Stallworth in late August from the Saints, and he finished with 38 catches for 725 yards and five touchdowns despite missing four games because of a hamstring injury. Read more

1 year, $5.4M for Billick

The Baltimore Sun reports The contract extension signed by Ravens HC Brian Billick two weeks ago is for one year and will pay him about $5.4 million, a league source said yesterday. That means Billick, who was entering the final year of his contract, is signed through the 2008 season. His two previous extensions with the Ravens were multi-year deals. Read more

The Kansas City Star reports Chiefs RB Larry Johnson’s representative has had some brief discussions with the club concerning a new contract, but Johnson isn’t pressing the issue with ultimatums. “It’s something the team is looking to do, and we’re excited about the opportunity to do it,” said Johnson’s agent, Alvin Keels, at a Super Bowl function on Wednesday. “We’re just talking right now.” Johnson has three more years left on his original contract signed in 2003 that is scheduled to pay him $850,000 in 2007, far below market value for one of the NFL’s premier running backs.
