However, his contribution on the field has gone virtually unnoticed and unappreciated by some fans until now. Coming off a magnificent performance in the postseason and Super Bowl, all of that is expected to change for the undrafted running back out Midwestern State. Rhodes is set to become an unrestricted free agent when free agency begins March 3 and folks will soon find out just how valuable this guy is. There is a good chance that an integral part of the Colts offense this season could be missing from the well-oiled machine next season when free agency hits.Read more

The club has called a news conference here at Valley Ranch for 5 p.m. (CST) to announce their new head coach. After a lengthy interviewing process that included 10 candidates, it appears Wade Phillips, as reported all day, is the Cowboys' man. Phillips interviewed for the job back on Jan. 26, the fifth candidate to meet with Cowboys owner-general manager Jerry Jones and the staff. However, Phillips is the most experienced of all the candidates as not only a coach for 30 years in the NFL, but the son of former Oilers and Saints head coach Bum Phillips.Read more
Oakland Raiders 02/08/2007 6:11 PMESPNâs Len Pasquarelli reports Tom Rathman, who spent most of his career as an NFL player and coach with the league's other team in the Bay Area, was hired Thursday by the Oakland Raiders as the club's new running backs coach. Rathman, 44, becomes the latest addition to the staff of first-year HC Lane Kiffin, who is working quickly to fill vacancies.Read more
