Broncos making run at Henry

The Denver Post reports the Broncos spent Sunday night negotiating with veteran RB Travis Henry, a 1,211-yard rusher last season who was cut Saturday by the Tennessee Titans. RB Ahman Green, who visited with the Broncos over the weekend, signed a four-year, $23 million contract with the Houston Texans on Sunday. Green's deal likely will play a role in the Henry negotiations. The Broncos discussed a contract with Green's agent Sunday but concentrated on striking a deal with Henry, 28. Henry spent the night in Denver, said his agent, Hadley Engelhard. The Broncos are expected to try to get the deal done before Henry leaves. Read more

The Houston Chronicle reports while Texans HC Gary Kubiak attended Notre Dame's pro day to watch QB Brady Quinn work out, GM Rick Smith was signing his first free agent — Green Bay RB Ahman Green. Green, 30, signed a four-year contract worth $23 million, including $6.5 million in guaranteed money. He'll be introduced at a news conference at 1 p.m. today at Reliant Stadium. Read more

The Palm Beach Post reports it looks like the Dolphins will have to pay to keep WR Wes Welker from joining AFC East rival New England. But the Dolphins could choose to spend their money elsewhere, with an offer to Cincinnati WR Kelley Washington likely on the way as early as today, a source said. Read more
