A decision could be made today. Denver may have to cut a few players to find salary cap room to get its entire wish list. San Francisco 49ers 03/06/2007 8:23 AMAP reports WR Ashley Lelie is getting his second fresh start in 6 1/2 months, and the talented receiver believes he has finally found a home with the San Francisco 49ers. Lelie signed a two-year contract with San Francisco on Monday, the fourth prominent free agent to join the 49ers during a four-day spending spree that included re-signing several of their own free agents. The 49ers reached a tentative agreement during the weekend with Lelie, a fleet deep threat who had a disappointing season with Atlanta in 2006, catching just 28 passes for 430 yards after being traded by the Broncos late in training camp.Read more
St. Louis Rams 03/06/2007 8:20 AMThe St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Rams have signed P B.J. Sander, a street free agent, to a contract. Terms were not immediately available. Sander, 26, was the Ray Guy Award winner in 2003 as the nation's top college punter at Ohio State. He was selected in the third round, No. 87 overall, by the Green Bay Packers in 2004.Read more
