Houston Texans 04/06/2007 7:58 AMThe Houston Chronicle reports the Texans continued to bolster their defense via free agency by signing veteran CB Jamar Fletcher. Fletcher, who visited the Texans on Wednesday, signed a two-year, $2.4 million contract. He will enter the offseason as the replacement for Lewis Sanders, who signed with the Atlanta Falcons. Fletcher will challenge Demarcus Faggins for the starting job opposite Dunta Robinson.Read more
Carolina Panthers 04/06/2007 7:55 AMThe Charlotte Observer reports QB David Carr, the first overall pick in the 2002 draft, agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Carolina Panthers early Friday morning, according to a league source. Carr, 27, made the decision after returning from a two-day visit with the Seattle Seahawks and meeting with his wife at their California home late Thursday night. Carr had visited with the Panthers Monday and Tuesday. The financial terms of the deal werenât immediately available.Read more
