Walker a no-show; Bills ready to move on

06/11/2007 6:39 PM NFL.com wire reports the Buffalo Bills are prepared to move on without DT Darwin Walker after they couldn't agree on a new contract with the veteran defensive tackle before the start of a mandatory minicamp. Talks continue, but GM Marv Levy said the ultimate decision to report to the team rests with Walker, who is under contract, and has been advised he's subject to being fined. Read more

Assault complaint made against Lions' Rogers

06/11/2007 6:36 PM NFL.com wire reports a stripper is claiming she was inappropriately touched by Detroit Lions DT Shaun Rogers.  Police and prosecutors are reviewing the claims, Maria Miller, spokeswoman for the Wayne County prosecutor's office, said. The complaint was made to authorities early Friday by the woman, who dances at a club on Detroit's west side. Police have submitted a criminal sexual conduct warrant request to the prosecutor's office, but Miller said charges were not expected to be filed Monday. The Detroit police sex crimes unit also was investigating the complaint. Read more

Titans, CB Herndon reach 3-year deal

Herndon, recently released by Seattle, is the first new Titan with a Seahawks background since Mike Reinfeldt took over as Tennessee's general manager. Read more

Stecker has burst; Saints doubting Thomas?

06/11/2007 8:46 AM The Times-Picayune reports RB Aaron Stecker isn't going to give up his place on the Saints' 53-man roster to rookie RB Antonio Pittman without quite a fight. Stecker exhibited a burst of speed through the hole during minicamp workouts he hadn't seemed to show last season. Stecker is a durable back, a valuable special teams player and a sure-handed receiver. Pittman, who had his first offseason training activity practice Tuesday, is well behind in learning the playbook, giving Stecker, as well as returning practice squad player Jamaal Branch, the upper hand. This will be one of many interesting training camp battles when the dust settles on the summer workout venue. Read more
