Kansas City Chiefs 07/24/2007 9:03 AMThe Kansas City Star reports the Chiefs agreed to contract terms with two more draft picks, third-round DT Tank Tyler and sixth-round OL Herb Taylor. The agent for each player said his client agreed to terms of a three-year contract. Still without agreements were first-round WR Dwayne Bowe, second-round DL Turk McBride and fifth-round K Justin Medlock. The Chiefs also continued to work on a contract extension for RB Larry Johnson. The sides were still far from an agreement, making Johnson unlikely to be with the Chiefs on Thursday when they leave for training camp in River Falls, Wis., or Friday, when they will practice for the first time.Read more
Arizona Cardinals 07/24/2007 9:00 AMThe Arizona Republic reports the Cardinals and the agents for their top two draft picks have agreed on the structure of contracts, but one pesky little detail is holding up negotiations. Money. "We have made proposals that are indicative of where our beliefs are to where the market will be," said Rod Graves, the team's vice president of football operations. "And obviously the agents have a slightly higher opinion about that." They are working to finalize the entire roster heading into Friday's first workout. Monday, the Texans continued talks with their unsigned rookies, including DT Amobi Okoye and WR Jacoby Jones. They also officially signed S Brandon Harrison (fifth round) to a four-year, $1,847,125 which includes a $182,125 signing bonus. Kasey Studdard (sixth round) signed a four-year, $1,765,600 deal, which includes a $100,600 signing bonus.Read more
