Glenn: It's 'right decision'

The Indianapolis Star reports what had been stirring inside OT Tarik Glenn the past three months and continued to grow in intensity became a reality Tuesday evening. The Indianapolis Colts' veteran left offensive tackle, a franchise cornerstone since 1997 and QB Peyton Manning's backside protector the past nine seasons, made official his retirement that had first been reported last week. "It's been an emotional time for me and my family,'' said Glenn, who was joined at a news conference by his wife, Maya, and one of the couple's young children, "but at the same time we're confident we're making the right decision.'' Petrino trying to keep focus on football

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Falcons HC Bobby Petrino plans to address QB Michael Vick's situation at the team's first meeting Thursday and then turn his focus to getting the team ready for the season. "Every year you're going to deal with controversy and adversity," Petrino said. "One of the keys to coaching and having success is how you deal with it. How you face it straight on, how you put it behind you and move forward." In Thursday's meeting, Petrino wants Vick's teammates to have the opportunity to express their concerns. Read more

Cameron: Deal with Ginn close

The Palm Beach Post reports Miami Dolphins HC Cam Cameron doesn't expect the WR Ted Ginn Watch to become a distraction. The Dolphins rookies and other first-year players with the club opened camp Tuesday with the first-round draft pick the team's only unsigned rookie. Time is running out before owner Wayne Huizenga's vow not to play rookie holdouts will be put to the test. Cameron said he and the organization are "all on the same page" with Huizenga, but the first-year coach doesn't anticipate Ginn will miss the opening of training camp Friday. Read more

Rams agree to terms with second-round draft pick

AP reports the St. Louis Rams agreed to terms Tuesday on a four-year contract with RB Brian Leonard, their second-round draft pick. Leonard is expected to compete for the backup spot behind RB Steven Jackson. Read more
