The Dayton Daily News reports Bengals HC Marvin Lewis should consider placing an advertisement in the newspaper. Wanted: tight ends and fullbacks. The Bengals are down to two healthy tight ends in Reggie Kelly and Daniel Coats after Tim Day suffered a sprained knee that landed him on crutches at Georgetown College. He'll have arthroscopic surgery on Friday and be sidelined at least two weeks. Read more

Cardinals, Brown make progress

The Arizona Republic reports the Cardinals and the agent for first-round pick OT Levi Brown "made significant progress" on Tuesday, said GM Rod Graves late Tuesday night. Negotiations were expected to continue Wednesday morning, and a deal could be reached in time for the offensive tackle to practice later this week. The Cardinals and Brown's agent, Joel Segal, have settled on a six-year contract but are still working out some of the financial terms, Graves said. Read more

Coleman ahead of schedule

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports DT Rod Coleman, who is recovering from thigh surgery, is "ahead of schedule" for his return, according to HC Bobby Petrino. No timetable was given as to when Coleman could return, but initial projections had him coming back between the season-opener and Game 4. "He's walking good and running fairly well," Petrino said.
