Hall 'back home' in Michigan

The Dayton Daily News reports it's going to be an emotional night for Bengals rookie CB Leon Hall. The first-round draft pick was an All-American at Michigan, and he tied the knot with his college sweetheart, Jessica Cobb, in Detroit on July 14. "This is not where I'm from," said Hall, whose hometown is Vista, Calif., near San Diego, "but playing at Ann Arbor, that's close. I'm basically back home." Luckily for Hall, he didn't have to purchase many tickets for the game. "A lot of my friends are still at Michigan, and they're in (training), so they can't come," he said. "And a lot of other friends are in NFL camps. The tickets are for my wife and some of her family members." Read more

Saints waive ex-LSU standout Faulk

The Times-Picayune reports Saints HC Sean Payton was complimentary about LB Trev Faulk's development in training camp, noting the strides the linebacker had made. This made it all the more difficult to cut the guy. The former LSU standout was waived by the Saints, who desired more help on the offensive line. The team signed OT Nik Sobic on Wednesday, an undrafted free agent out of Harvard. The Saints also waived WR Dante Ridgeway and picked up WR Derrick Doyle, who previously set the record for single-season receptions at Northwestern State. Read more
