Houston Texans 09/11/2007 2:23 PMAP reports FS Will Demps has agreed to a one-year contract with the Houston Texans, his agent said Tuesday. The Texans needed another safety after losing starter Jason Simmons for the season with a torn patellar tendon on Sunday. They were already without S Glenn Earl, who fractured his foot in the exhibition opener. Demps, a former New York Giant, dislocated his elbow in a preseason game Aug. 19 and was placed on the injured reserve when New York reduced its roster to 53 players on Sept. 1. He received an injury settlement a few days later and became a free agent. His agent, Tony Agnone, said Demps is already in Houston and has passed a physical.Read more
Seattle Seahawks 09/11/2007 2:14 PMAP reports DE Bryce Fisher, who had been benched by Seattle after starting for two seasons, has been traded to Tennessee. Fisher's agent, Peter Schaffer, confirmed the deal Tuesday. Cleveland Browns 09/11/2007 2:11 PMNFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting that the Cleveland Browns have traded QB Charlie Frye to the Seattle Seahawks for a sixth-round draft pick. HC Romeo Crennel benched Frye in the first half of a 34-7 loss to the rival Pittsburgh Steelers. Frye went 4-for-10 for 34 yards, threw an interception and held the ball way too long while being flushed from the pocket.Read more
