McKay offered extension to remain as president

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports one high-ranking Falcons employee is staying. Another could be going. Rich McKay was offered a multiyear contract extension with a raise to remain as team president by owner Arthur Blank after Blank decided to strip McKay of his general manager title two weeks ago, two people with knowledge of the situation confirmed. Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, who has been told by the team that he will not be considered for the head coaching job, interviewed for the Cincinnati Bengals' defensive coordinator's job Friday, a person with knowledge of the situation told the AJC. Dolphins set for more interviews

The Palm Beach Post reports Dallas Cowboys assistant head coach Tony Sparano might actually have a little competition to become the Miami Dolphins' next head coach. While Sparano is considered the prohibitive favorite to replace Cam Cameron, who was fired last week, the Dolphins are scheduled to interview Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier today and ex-Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan on Tuesday. Indiana WR Hardy decides to enter NFL draft

AP reports WR James Hardy, Indiana's career leader in touchdown receptions and yardage, will bypass his senior season and enter the NFL draft this spring. The 6-foot-7 junior, who came to Indiana to play basketball and finished as a third-team All-America football selection by The Associated Press, said Friday he had "reached the pinnacle" of his college career. Bess To Forgo Senior Season

University of Hawaii junior slot receiver Davone Bess will forgo his senior season and enter the National Football League Draft. Bess, a three-year starter for the Warriors, finished his career as the school's all-time leader in receptions (293) and touchdowns (41).  "This is an opportunity I felt I couldn't pass up," said Bess, who received a second round grade by the NFL Advisory Committee. "It's been a dream of mine to play in the National Football League and I've worked hard these past three years to get to this point." Read more
