Browns still mum on Edwards
Cleveland Browns12/27/2006 2:34 PM The Dayton Daily News reports two days after benching second-year WR Braylon Edwards for nearly a half, Browns HC Romeo Crennel still would not confirm what led to the disciplinary action. It's believed Edwards missed or was late to a team meeting Friday morning, but the team is treating the information like a military secret. "Like I told you after the game, it was a coach's decision, and I'm leaving it as a coach's decision," Crennel said Tuesday. It's not the first time Edwards has had a problem with promptness. Edwards, who earlier this season made headlines for questioning the team's play-calling and for criticizing teammate S Brian Russell's big hit on Bengals WR Chad Johnson, entered Sunday's 22-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers late in the first half.
