Rookie QB gets some backing

The Pioneer Press reports Vikings HC Brad Childress said Monday he has not made a decision on his quarterback for Sunday's game at Detroit. But two starters Monday lobbied for rookie QB Tarvaris Jackson to supplant veteran QB Brad Johnson in the lineup. Both players, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said starting Jackson would not be a concession that the team is giving up on the rest of the season.
