Williamson in the clear
Minnesota Vikings11/30/2006 9:22 AM The Pioneer Press reports WR Troy Williamson had nothing to say Wednesday about an early Monday morning incident in which he was punched in the face, but he won't face any discipline from the Vikings. HC Brad Childress, asked if he had spoken to Williamson about the episode, which occurred after the "Sharperpalooza" festival at the Myth nightclub in Maplewood, said, "Yeah, I'm satisfied." Williamson was one of a large number of Vikings players to attend the event, which was sponsored by S Darren Sharper and held to benefit the United Way and Minnesota AIDS project. Sharper said he didn't witness the incident, but Williamson reportedly was punched in the face by a security guard while preparing to leave the club at around the 2 a.m. closing time. Read more
