One good quarter for Lions

The Detroit Free Press reports WR Roy Williams had five catches for 110 yards as the Lions took a 10-0 lead in the first quarter. But he had only one catch for 16 yards as they failed to score after that. The Lions had virtually no running game with RB Kevin Jones (ankle) sidelined. The Dolphins started double-teaming Williams and coming after QB Jon Kitna. They sacked Kitna eight times. "I think once they realized we were going to pass every down, they started rushing every down, and we didn't do our job up front protecting Kitna," left OT Jeff Backus said. "Yeah, you can block them. But it's a disadvantage. That's just common sense. When they know what you're going to do 80 to 90% of the time, the odds are in their favor." Read more
