Colts' search for defensive coordinator includes ex-Tampa assistant Coyer
Tampa Bay Buccaneers01/23/2009 7:54 AM The Indianapolis Star reports the Indianapolis Colts have discussed their defensive coordinator opening with veteran NFL assistant Larry Coyer, who has strong college ties to new coach Jim Caldwell. Coyer, 65, has spent the past two seasons in Tampa Bay, last year as assistant head coach to Jon Gruden, but was not retained when Gruden was fired last week. Before that Coyer spent seven seasons with the Denver Broncos, the last four as defensive coordinator. Read more
