Panthers backup DT Gibson is out for season
Carolina Panthers12/24/2008 8:21 AM The Charlotte Observer reports the Carolina Panthers' depth at defensive line took another hit Tuesday when the team placed backup tackle Gary Gibson on injured reserve. Gibson, who has an injured hand, will miss the rest of the season. The Panthers signed defensive tackle J'Vonne Parker to replace Gibson. Parker has been on the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad this season and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cleveland Browns in 2005. Parker, who has played 11 games in his NFL career, played college ball at Rutgers and was born in Roanoke Rapids. Read more
