Dolphins sign veteran linebacker Derek Smith
Miami Dolphins12/24/2008 8:15 AM The Palm Beach Post reports the Dolphins on Tuesday signed veteran linebacker Derek Smith. The signing of Smith, 33, could signify concern about the availability of starting inside linebacker Channing Crowder, who missed Sunday's game in Kansas City because of an unspecified knee injury. Crowder has a history of right knee problems. Arthroscopic surgery ended his 2007 season with four games to go. At Sunday's game, he had a sleeve on his left knee. Read more
