Bucs spend some dough on Faine
Tampa Bay Buccaneers02/29/2008 1:01 PM ESPN’s Len Pasquarelli reports armed with $44 million in salary cap room, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers spent very little time spending some of their rare bounty, reaching an early Friday morning contract agreement with unrestricted free agent C Jeff Faine, who played with the New Orleans Saints the past two years. Contract details were not immediately available, but league sources said the deal will make Faine one of the NFL's highest paid centers and surpass the six-year, $36 million contract that another former New Orleans C LeCharles Bentley, signed with Cleveland as a free agent in 2006.
