Normally a key contributor on special teams, Smith did not participate in that unit's practice because of his newest status: starting running back. With starter Willis McGahee (cracked ribs) ruled out and backup RB Mike Anderson suffering from a hamstring injury, coach Brian Billick said Smith would make his first career start at running back Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers at M&T Bank Stadium.Read more
