San Diego Chargers 12/25/2007 8:12 AMThe San Diego Union-Tribune reports there were times this year when a second straight NFL rushing title for RB LaDainian Tomlinson seemed as likely as, well, a winning record for the Chargers. But the latter was clinched a week ago, and Tomlinson made some giant strides in pursuit of the former during last night's 23-3 victory over Denver at Qualcomm Stadium. Despite playing just 2½ quarters for the second straight week, Tomlinson gained 107 yards â his fourth consecutive 100-yard game, or twice as many as he had in the season's first 11 games. At the end of the night, Tomlinson had 1,418 yards, 102 more than Pittsburgh's Willie Parker, who is out for the season. With one game remaining, Tomlinson leads Minnesota's Adrian Peterson by 113 yards and Philadelphia's Brian Westbrook by 127.Read more
