Yet, even with the recognition of his peers and a comfortable bankroll, the team's first-round pick (11th overall) out of FloridaState in 1998 was never more ap preciated than on Sept. 30 at the Meadowlands, when he was scratched from the lineup with a sprained knee ligament. The fallout was disastrous as his replacement, inexperienced second-year pro OT Winston Justice, be came the gateway that allowed the Giants to sack McNabb a fran chise-record 12 times, including six by DE Osi Umenyiora.Read more
