Atlanta Falcons 11/20/2007 7:37 AMThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports QB Michael Vick checked himself into jail on Monday - three weeks before he is to be sentenced for his infamous dogfighting operation. The suspended Falcons quarterback turned himself into the U.S. Marshal's Service in Richmond, even though his sentencing in federal court is scheduled for Dec. 10. Earlier this year, Vick was the face of the Falcons' franchise and one of the NFL's most exciting players. Today, he is sitting behind bars and awaiting sentencing at the Northern Neck Regional Jail, a 460-bed facility about 55 miles northeast of Richmond. The jail has a contract with the U.S. Bureau of Prisons to hold federal inmates awaiting sentencing.Read more
