Cincinnati Bengals 10/23/2007 9:29 AMThe Dayton Daily News reports trade Chad Johnson? Are the Bengals really serious? If they are ... So be it," Johnson said Monday. "It doesn't bother me. There's always some truth to things that are said. Always." NFL insider Chris Mortensen sparked the controversy on ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" prior to Cincinnati's 38-31 victory over the New York Jets. "A prominent member of the Bengals organization told me the organization does have a decision to make on Chad Johnson â that he is so passionate and proud that if they decided to discipline him for some of those antics, they believe he would shut it down," Mortensen said. "So how he finishes the rest of the year and (how) the Bengals finish could bring them to a crossroads discussion on whether to even trade Chad Johnson in the offseason. That's a ways off, but it could be a part of their offseason discussion." HC Marvin Lewis praised Johnson as "a team player" and said he never spoke to ESPN about Johnson.Read more
