Dolphins release Culpepper
Miami Dolphins07/18/2007 8:40 AM The Palm Beach Post reports sixteen months ago, the Dolphins gambled on an injured, high-profile quarterback, hoping that QB Daunte Culpepper would provide the presence in the pocket Miami hadn't seen since Dan Marino retired. Tuesday, the team ended the experiment that had become a failure and an embarrassment. Miami, unable to find anyone to trade for Culpepper, granted him the release he sought. "I am just like many other people who have to go out and find employment so that I can take care of my family," Culpepper said via e-mail. "I just hope that there is still a team or two out there that has an opportunity for a hard-working quarterback who is willing to come in and contribute wherever needed." Read more
