Betts preparing for dogfight for job with Colts
Indianapolis Colts07/13/2007 8:53 AM The Dayton Daily News reports former Miami RedHawk quarterback and Vandalia native Josh Betts could be in for the fight of his life when he reports to training camp with the Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts this summer. Betts spent last season on the team's practice squad and is now looking to earn a spot on the active roster, which is a feat itself considering the Colts usually like to carry two quarterbacks, Peyton Manning and Jim Sorgi, on the roster. The team made things more difficult for Betts this off-season when it added another signal-caller to the mix. The Colts signed veteran QB John Navarre, who spent the last three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, which should make for an interesting battle at the No. 3 quarterback position. Read more
