Bears say goodbye to troubled DT
Chicago Bears06/25/2007 4:44 PM The official website of the Chicago Bears reports the Bears stood by and supported DT Tank Johnson throughout a series of transgressions, but violating the clubâs no-tolerance policy cost him his job. The Bears on Monday waived the troubled defensive tackle, who had been pulled over and arrested by police in Arizona at 3:30 a.m. Friday. âWe are upset and embarrassed by Tankâs actions last week,â said GM Jerry Angelo. âHe compromised the credibility of our organization. We made it clear to him that he had no room for error. Our goal was to help someone through a difficult period in his life, but the effort needs to come from both sides.
