Briggs not a volunteer in program
Chicago Bears04/10/2007 9:19 AM The Chicago Sun-Times reports starting today and moving through the next few weeks, the Bears will begin to find out if anyone other than LB Lance Briggs has a beef with his contract status. The Bears' voluntary offseason program begins today at Halas Hall, and one player certain not to be on hand is Briggs. The Pro Bowl linebacker is seeking a new home, upset that the club placed the franchise tag on him. But a proposed trade with the Washington Redskins, in which the teams would have swapped first-round picks, is dead, and no other interested parties have come forward. Read more
