Johnson out; Smoot, Wiggins could be next
Minnesota Vikings03/01/2007 10:47 AM The Pioneer Press reports QB Brad Johnson got his wish Wednesday when the Vikings granted the 15-year NFL quarterback his release so he can seek a better opportunity with another team. As to where he and the Vikings go from here, that remains uncertain. Johnson's release was the first of a handful of anticipated roster moves for the Vikings, who are expected to release CB Fred Smoot and TE Jermaine Wiggins before the start of free agency at 11 tonight.
