Giants cut 3 vets

The Star-Ledger reports it didn't take Jerry Reese very long to make his mark as Giants general manager. And it's pretty clear he plans on doing things his way. Less than a month since he was hired to replace retired GM Ernie Accorsi, Reese cut three veterans yesterday who were starters last season: left OT Luke Petitgout and outside linebackers LaVar Arrington and Carlos Emmons. Returner Chad Morton might also be cut soon. Backup OT Bob Whitfield will file his retirement papers today -- one day after RB Tiki Barber made his retirement official. Read more
