Cardinals likely to add Carthon to staff
Arizona Cardinals01/29/2007 9:44 AM The Arizona Republic Reports the Cardinals are expected to hire Maurice Carthon, formerly the Browns' offensive coordinator, as coach running backs. Carthon, 35, played fullback for the Giants and Colts and has been a coach in the NFL since 1994. He joined the Browns as offensive coordinator in 2005 but was fired during last season. He also has coached with the Patriots, Jets, Lions and Cowboys. Carthon and Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt were assistants with the Jets in 2000. Carthon's hiring is expected to be announced within the next few days. He will be the eighth assistant hired by Whisenhunt, who has a handful of other slots to fill. Read more
