UT receiver Williams makes case at Combine

The Toledo Blade reports Stephen Williams and Barry Church, products of the University of Toledo football program, were among the 329 former college players in Indianapolis to take part in the NFL Scouting Combine, the annual invitation-only job fair for potential pro prospects entering April's draft. Entering the Combine, Williams was viewed as a possible undrafted free agent, but he may have raised his draft status with an overall good showing yesterday.

Fullback John Conner ready for NFL look

The Dayton Daily News reports Lakota West High School graduate and University of Kentucky fullback John Conner has emerged as a hot prospect to watch leading up to April’s NFL draft. Conner will head to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis next week on a high note after an impressive performance at the Senior Bowl last month.

Ohio State’s Coleman ready to shine at NFL Combine

The Dayton Daily News reports Englewood native and Ohio State defensive back Kurt Coleman is prepared to chase his dream of playing professional football. Toward that end, the Northmont High School graduate will travel to Indianapolis on Saturday, Feb. 27, to take part in the NFL Scouting Combine, the annual invitation-only job fair for prospects entering April’s draft. Coleman and more than 300 other potential picks will be put through medical examinations and a series of agility tests before all 32 NFL teams. Coleman returned to OSU after the Senior Bowl to train and prepare for his job interview.

Bengals’ Jeanty ready for action against Browns

The Dayton Daily News reports when Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rashad Jeanty lost his starting job to rookie Rey Maualuga in training camp, he didn’t become a distraction. Instead, Jeanty demonstrated the type of class that he has always shown. In a sense, he took one for the team. During an interview with Jeanty on Thursday, Oct. 1, the former starter spoke openly about his new role with the team.
